Remember, a sentence is a group of words that tells you something.  Let's also learn this rule about sentences:

That's just like the rule about names!  Do you remember the rule about how Names begin?  (Names always begin with a Capital/Big letter.)

Let's find out what these sentences say:

A  man  ran .

That fat man ran to the van.

See the difference in spelling and sound between 'the' and 'that'?
