Daniel and
the Lion
Note
You may want to read directly from Daniel
6 (or read a storybook version of "Daniel and the Lions' Den") along with the following story. Remind
your child that this is a fanciful story, and we don't know any details of what happened in the
lions' den that night. All we know is what Daniel told the king: "My
God sent His angel and shut the lions' mouths" (6.22 ).
(In addition, we can surmise that the lions were very hungry, because it was
something much more substantial than rats that they ate--6.23-24 .)
A man. A pit. A cat.
